About the ingredients:-
Pre-sprouted activated barley – the pre-sprouting stage is most nutrient and enzyme rich stage and pre-sprouted barley contains all the essential amino acids, it’s high in plant protein and high in soluble fibre. It contains carbohydrates for slow and steady energy and also beneficial omega oils.

Wheatgrass juice with green radishWheatgrass – Wheatgrass is a superfood that has a high nutrient-to-calorie ratio and is considered to be a complete food in itself. It is high in chlorophyll and vitamins A, B, C, E and K. It is a good source of minerals including iron, phosphate, boron, copper, selenium, calcium,  magnesium, potassium, chromium, manganese,  phosphorous, silicon and zinc. It is also a good source of dietary fibre, complete plant protein and natural enzymes.
Barley Grass  – Barley is regarded as a near-perfect food. It is high in fibre, calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium and lysine ( an essential amino acid).

Quinoa – This grain is high in protein and is added to this complex to support the amino acid profile of pre-sprouted barley and wheatgrass.
Alfalfa – This sprout contains 8 essential enzymes along with many vitamins and minerals including pro-vitamin A (B-carotene), B6, D, E, K and P.
It yields 10 times more mineral value than the average grain due to the fact that its root penetrates sub-soil as far as 125 ft therefore enabling it to absorb vital nutrients beyond the reach of other vegetation. These minerals include calcium, magnesium, phosphorous and potassium.

Seagreens® Ascophyllum (kelp): This is the seaweed of the northern Atlantic Ocean, also known as kelp. It is sourced from the Scottish Outer Hebrides and scores high in terms of iodine levels – with around 700mcg per 1g. It is also rich in macro-nutrients (e.g nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, calcium, magnesium and sulphur) and micro-nutrients (e.g. manganese, copper, iron, zinc etc).

Spirulina – One of the world’s most nutritious foods, Spirulina is a blue-green micro-algae containing 18 amino acids including 8 essential ones. It’s rich in beta-carotene, protein,  iron, and vitamins.

Chlorella – An edible, single-cell marine algae which contains more chlorophyll than many known foods, beta-carotene, polyunsaturated fatty acids and 19 amino acids. It’s also a great source of calcium, iron, selenium and zinc. Chlorella is a great detoxification aid as it binds with heavy metals and pesticides and helps to eliminate them from the body. It’s high nutrient content means that it helps to keep the immune system strong.

Turmeric  -contains a compound called curcumin which is a powerful anti-inflammatory and a strong antioxidant.

Recipe ideas :-

Tropical Superfood Smoothie
1 cup pineapple (can be frozen)
1 cup organic cucumber
handful of mint leaves
2 scoops Green Nourishment Complex
Coconut water to mix

Whizz all ingredients in a Nutribullet or blender and serve.

Chocolate and Banana Superfood Smoothie
1 banana ( can be frozen)
2 scoops Green Nourishment Complex
Chocolate Almond Milk to mix

Whizz all ingredients in a Nutribullet or blender and serve.

Superfood Cashew Energy Balls

2 cups dates
6 tbsp Green Nourishment complex powder
2 tsp cashew butter
100g cashews

Chop the cashews in food processor and put on one side. Soak the dates for 10 mins in warm water and drain. Whizz dates into a paste in a food processor.
Add the green nourishment powder and cashew butter and 2 tbsp the chopped cashews.
Shape the mixture into balls and roll in the remaining ground cashews.

makes approx 16 balls

Superfood Almond Energy Balls

2 cups oats
2 scoops Green Nourishment Complex powder
1/2 cup almonds
50g grass-fed butter (e.g anchor or kerrygold)
can be substituted for coconut oil for dairy free recipe
3 tbsp raw honey or pure maple syrup
2 tbsp almond butter

Chop the almonds in a food processor and set aside. Melt the butter and
honey / maple syrup together in a pan.
Mix the dry ingredients and half of almonds together in a food processor.
Add the almond butter and melted ingredients and mix to a dough. You may need to mix in a
little almond milk to get a dough consistency. Shape into balls and roll in the remaining
chopped almonds. Refrigerate for 1 hour.
Makes approx 14 balls.

Coconut Superfood Energy Balls

4 tbsp coconut oil
2 tbsp Green Nourishment complex powder
4 tbsp cocoa powder
3 cups oats
2 tbsp cashew or almond butter
50g desiccated coconut

Melt the coconut oil . Remove from the heat and and stir in the maple syrup.
Mix all the dry ingredients together. Add the coconut oil mixture and the nut butter. Shape into balls and roll in the desiccated coconut. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Makes approx 16 balls. This recipe is dairy free. Keep refrigerated.

Superfood fudge

2 tbsp Green Nourishment complex powder
100g coconut oil
2 tbsp Almond or Cashew butter
6 tbsp raw organic cocao powder
2 tbsp pure Maple syrup

Melt the coconut oil in a saucepan and stir in the remaining ingredients. Pour
the mixture into a container ( silicon chocolate moulds work well) and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Store in the refrigerator.
